Yesterday's bread, yoghurt, whose minimum shelf-life is reached in a few days, or unsold fruit and vegetables ... all of these are food that would land in the rubbish in Germany. On the other hand, there are around 66.000 people in Stuttgart and the surrounding area who live on the fringe of subsistence. The Schwäbische Tafel Stuttgart e.V. has made it their task to collect these foodstuffs and to sell them in their own shops to people in need for a small fee contribution.
